Lora Castle, COA, NCLE-AC

Lora Castle is the Vice President of Professional Services and Consultant at Metro Optics, where custom contact lenses are designed and manufactured. Lora’s focus at Metro Optics is to provide consultation on Metro Optics’ lens designs and to develop educational programs to train practicing ophthalmologists, optometrists, students of optometry and other eye care professionals about the intricacies of fitting custom lenses. Aside from this, she also assists the President with business development, marketing and the leading of sales representatives in the Texas market.

Prior to dedicating her time with Metro Optics, she worked for a large ophthalmology practice in Austin as a lead Certified Ophthalmic Assistant for a group of MDs who specialized in cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastic, cataract and refractive surgery. Her passion for custom contact lenses came when she was given the opportunity to manage the practice’s contact lens department where she gained notoriety as a top performing custom lens fitter. To her, she found fitting custom lenses was like seeing how the pieces of a complex puzzle would come together, ultimately providing the patient with the most beautiful picture of how they saw their world. Lora also assisted in the early program development of Austin Community College’s Ophthalmic Assistant program and instructed.

In addition to changing the way people see their world, Lora enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, son-in-law and Goldendoodle. She also has a deep appreciation for the arts, is a foodie and loves to travel - so you will find her often checking out a new art exhibit or cozy music venue, discovering new restaurants or planning an adventurous getaway.
