Eke (Kelvin) Nkuma, OD


Dr. Nkuma Eke ‘Kelvin’ is a licensed optometrist practicing across North America. He holds a license to practice in both New York State and Alberta, Canada. Born in Nigeria, West Africa, Dr. Kelvin later became a naturalized Canadian citizen, bringing a diverse international perspective to his optometric practice.

Dr. Kelvin’s optometric education began at the prestigious Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in Nigeria, where he established a strong foundation in optometry. Seeking to expand his professional expertise and practice opportunities, he successfully completed a rigorous academic sponsorship program with the State University of New York (SUNY) system. This program led to the achievement of Doctor of Optometry (OD) equivalency through comprehensive examinations and clinical assessments.

Currently, Dr. Kelvin holds active licenses in both New York and Alberta. He demonstrates his commitment to meeting the global needs for improved ocular health by undertaking a residency program in cornea and contact lens. His international training and cross-border practice experience provide him with a deep understanding of diverse patient populations and varying healthcare systems and needs.

When he’s not busy with his job, Dr. Kelvin likes to stay active. He loves playing soccer with his friends on weekends and goes to the gym regularly to stay fit.

Dr. Kelvin believes that being an optometrist is more than just fixing eyesight. He aims to help people see the world differently, improve their vision, and enhance their overall well-being by visual connections with the world around them.
